Tours around Bali paradise island
Bali's coastal gem remains relatively unknown to many tourists
Tanah Barak Beach is not your typical Bali beach. This Bali coastal gem remains relatively unknown to many tourists, which adds to its charm. The beach is located in Kutuh village, Kuta Selatan, close to the popular Pandawa Beach and Green Bowl Beach. The beach's hidden nature means fewer crowds, giving visitors a chance to connect with the natural surroundings and enjoy the tranquility Bali has to offer.
The beach has soft white sand and clear turquoise water. One of the most striking features of Tanah Barak is the impressive cliffs that surround the beach, which create a breathtaking backdrop for photos and an ideal spot for nature lovers. The cliffs provide a sense of seclusion, making this Bali coastal gem feel like your own private paradise.
Tanah Barak Beach is situated in Kutuh Village, South Kuta District, Badung, Bali. It's about a 40-minute drive from Denpasar city center or a 30-minute drive from Ngurah Rai Airport if you're using a motor vehicle. To reach this location, you can use the Bali Mandara toll road and take the Nusa Dua route until you turn right towards Puja Mandala Nusa Dua. Then, follow the main road until you see signs for Tanah Barak Beach. Turn right and follow the signs until you reach the beach.
Tanah Barak Beach is a peaceful place to spend a few hours, especially if you prefer quieter beaches. The water is generally calm, making it a nice spot for swimming. You can stay close to the shore for a relaxed swim or head a little farther out if you’re looking for something more exciting.
If swimming isn’t your thing, the beach is also a good place to slow down and enjoy the brach. You can sit on the sand, soak up the sun, or take a walk along the shoreline while enjoying the sound of the waves.
Tanah Barak is also worth visiting if you enjoy photography. The tall cliffs, clear blue water, and open coastline create plenty of great views to capture. The beach is usually less crowded, so you can take your time finding a good spot for photos without too many people in the background.
To visit and enjoy the soothing waves and gentle sea breeze at Tanah Barak Beach, you'll need to pay an entrance fee of Rp8,000 for adults and Rp3,000 for children. Additionally, there's a parking fee of Rp2,000 for motorcycles and Rp5,000 for cars.
This tourist spot is open every day from 06:00-18:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time). However, to have a quieter atmosphere for your photos, consider visiting on a weekday during daylight hours.
Tanah Barak Beach is a beautiful and relatively quiet beach, so it’s a good idea to prepare before visiting. You can rent a scooter or car to get there, although some parts of the road may be a little challenging. After parking, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the beach. Since there are only a few facilities nearby, bring your own water, snacks, sunscreen, towel, and a portable charger.
For a more comfortable visit, try coming in the early morning or late afternoon. The morning is usually quieter and less hot, while the afternoon is a great time to enjoy the sunset. Take some time to enjoy the natural surroundings, but remember to keep the beach clean. Avoid leaving rubbish behind and respect the local environment so the beach stays beautiful.
When swimming, always be careful and check the sea conditions first. There are no lifeguards at the beach, so avoid going too far from the shore, especially if you are not a strong swimmer. Staying in shallow water and keeping an eye on the tides will help you enjoy Tanah Barak Beach safely.
Tanah Barak Beach is a great choice if you want to enjoy Bali away from the usual crowds, with clear water, white sand, and dramatic cliffs. If you’re looking for a quieter beach to explore in South Bali, Tanah Barak is worth a visit.
