Explore and enjoy nature with a variety of exotic animals
If you love watching animals play and getting closer to nature, Bali Zoo is a fun place to visit. You can see different kinds of animals, enjoy the green surroundings, and spend a relaxing day with family or friends. It is a simple way to enjoy wildlife while exploring Bali.
Beyond animal viewing, Bali Zoo offers a full slate of hands-on experiences: elephant rides, keeper-led Animal Encounters, a Night Safari, and themed dining events. It’s a destination that works equally well for families looking for a memorable day out, wildlife enthusiasts wanting close-up encounters, and visitors who want to combine entertainment with genuine conservation learning.
Bali Zoo is located on Singapadu Street, Singapadu Village, Sukawati Sub-district, Gianyar, about a 30-minute drive from Ubud and 45 minutes from Denpasar or the Kuta area. Access to the Bali Zoo is very easy; it can be reached by private vehicle or taxi. For tourists seeking a more comfortable experience, Bali Zoo also offers shuttle services from various key points in Bali.
The park is open year-round, and you will have a great time no matter the season. However, if you want to stay cool and avoid the crowds, aim to get there in the morning, as by early afternoon it gets hotter and less comfortable. The park closes early in the evening, so it’s easier to walk around and see everything if you arrive in the morning.
Bali Zoo is home to many different animals, and there are also fun activities that let you get closer to them.
Enjoy a guided tour of the zoo by experienced staff. This activity allows you to get up close to various animal species while receiving an in-depth explanation of their habitats and behaviors. Zoo Explorer starts every day at 09:30 WITA and is a fun and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
Experience a unique adventure by riding an elephant as you explore the zoo. This activity allows you to explore the zoo from the back of an elephant, enjoying the beautiful natural scenery. This activity is available every day starting at 10:00 am and is suitable for families looking for a new experience.
There are two encounters with animals each day. The first starts at 1 p.m. by the food village and offers you the chance to interact with a wide range of animals selected by their keepers. Kids will love this experience, and so will most adults.
There are also two entertaining animal presentations, the first of which features some of the most fascinating creatures on the Green Stage at around noon. Then, later on, there’s a presentation of birds on the Kampung Sumatra Stage at 3 p.m.
There are also regular animal feeding sessions throughout the day, allowing you to feed the animals with the support and guidance of our park team. Animal feeding sessions incur an additional cost and are not included in your ticket price.
Enjoy dinner in the company of the zoo’s animals. This activity provides an unforgettable experience where you can have dinner while exotic animals are around you. Dinner with the Animals usually starts at 6 pm WITA every day and is the perfect choice for celebrating a special occasion.
Bali Zoo is a zoo. However, the zoo is blurring the lines between a zoo experience and a safari park experience, and the animals are kept mainly in enclosures rather than cages.
However, at the Bali Safari and Marine Park, the emphasis is on “safari,” and you’ll find that the animals are kept in a variety of environments that are meant to simulate the creatures’ natural environments.
Bali Zoo is a fun place to spend a day with family while learning more about different animals. You can see many species, enjoy animal encounters, and explore the zoo at your own pace. If you’re looking for a simple and enjoyable activity in Bali, Bali Zoo is well worth a visit.
